The PRO:SPORT Ultra takes place in the beautiful historic foothills of Jerusalem. You will be running over trails used for thousands of years. You will be passing ancient water sources, and historic biblical sites. This is a challenging and varied course which will require runners to scale hills with amazing views, make their way over a number of streams in addition to other natural challenges
Date: Thursday 23 and Friday 24 February 2012
Place: Mitzpe Harel
Course: Cross country course on marked paths.
The course is set up in such a way that runners return to the staging area a number of times during the course of the run. Here there will be an aid tent where runners can leave a drop bag and also receive water, food, gels, isotonic drinks and other food provided by the organisers. Each section of the course is different and runners of the Ultra do not run any section of the trail twice. You can look forward to 30 or 50 or 100km of stunning scenery with no repeats. Our cut off times are generous for each section, we are used to a mixture of runners, both the fast racing community and the slower runners who want the experience and to enjoy the stunning scenery. The last section of the Ultra follows the course of the Relay Race so there will be runners around to encourage you on the last part of your run.
An elevation map of the course will be published on line no later than one month before the race. Expect an overall elevation gain for the 100km of something around 2000 m
The race takes part in the foothills of Jerusalem. The area is hilly and partly forested and of course incredibly beautiful. The racecourse will be on jeep trails and single tracks. The course will be well marked with color-coded arrows during the day and stick lights at night. This is a cross-country course on varied terrain.
